Laura Kaye Crowson

It is with heavy hearts the family of Laura Kaye Crowson, born in Statesville, North Carolina, to the late William B. Crowson and Dorothy Moore Crowson, was welcomed into eternal life at the age of 77 on January 6, 2025.

She was a proud graduate and loyal member of Statesville Senior high class of 1965. She attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a BA in 1969, after which she began her long successful career in banking.

Kaye was very soft spoken and had quite a sense of humor. She wrote beautiful poetry and loved to paint. She had unconditional love for her close friends, special family members and especially her four-footed friends. She loved to travel with a special group of high school girlfriends throughout the years and vacationed with them until her illness. After retirement she enjoyed watching the wildlife from her home where the birds and squirrels would come to her feeders daily. She enjoyed going out to dinner and spending time with her family and also loved watching sports, especially Carolina Panthers. She will be missed by those that truly loved her, including family, friends “especially the Statesville Senior High girlfriends”, clients and colleagues.

Kaye is preceded in death by her parents and brother, William B. Crowson Jr. Those left to cherish her memory include her close cousins, Vicki Strawbridge of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Tina Rodriguez of Statesville, North Carolina, and other family members, as well as her precious dog “Taffe”, who resides with a dear friend, Sandy, with Forever Home Canine Rescue.

A celebration of life will be held on May 9, 2025, and the time and location will be provided at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in Kaye’s name to your favorite charity or to Forever Home Canine Rescue, which Kaye was especially fond of. This local rescue has taken care of Taffe for the last few years for Kaye and continues to care for Taffe today. This is Kaye’s wish for the love of her dogs.
