Laura Christina Benfield

May 12, 1968 - February 21, 2017 On Feb. 21, 2017, surrounded by family, Laura Christina Benfield, 48, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away. Laura Benfield was born in St. Helena, California on May 12, 1968 to George Luna and Theresa Cordova. Laura is survived by her loving partner, Walter Sipes; two daughters Taylor Cline (Jarred) and Mackenzie Benfield; grandson, Lucas Vega; sister, Jeannie Osborne; sister, Lorena Luna; stepsister, Annette Wilder; three nephews and two nieces; as well as her father, George Luna; mother, Theresa Fitzgerald; step-father, Carl Fitzgerald. In addition to her family and friends, Laura leaves behind her canine babies: Annie, a pug, and Frank, a French bulldog. Laura was a loving mother who treasured spending time with her family, friends and pets. She enjoyed trips to the beach, traveling, music, and spending time outdoors. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Troutman Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Laura’s memory may be made to The American Liver Foundation. Troutman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Laura Benfield.
