Larry Dean Mahaffey

Larry Dean Mahaffey, 77, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Larry was born on December 16, 1946, in Wilkes County to the late John Virgil Mahaffey and Stella Mae Ladd Mahaffey. He was a member of Command Baptist Church and enjoyed doing landscaping.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Campbell Mahaffey, five sisters, Louise Parks, Ruby Cates, Noel Johnston, Ruth Mason and Maxine Shoemaker and three brothers, infant Curtis Mahaffey, Billy Mahaffey and Arzy Mahaffey.

Those left to cherish Larry’s memory include his daughter, Crystal Bacon (Eddie), son, David Adams (Rachel), stepson, Ricky Adams (Rhonda), stepdaughter, Sandra Adams, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Evelyn Edwards and Arlene Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday, November 12, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Command Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tony Fox and Rev. Scott Whitman officiating. Burial will follow at Stony Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
