Kevin Dean Mead

Kevin Dean Mead, 47, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC after a brief illness.

Kevin was born September 17, 1971 in Richmond, Virginia and was the son of Eugenia H. Mead of Statesville and the late Justin Evan Mead, Jr. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School, class of 1990 and was self-employed. Kevin had a passion for music and was an incredibly talented guitar player and musician. He had a love of photography, nature, and animals of all kinds, having cared for many creatures during his life. He was a self-taught computer whiz and seeker of knowledge. Kevin was also willing to lend a hand to all he called a friend.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Bonnie Mead Moore and husband, John of Troutman, two nieces, Kristen Mangrum of Troutman, Kacey Moore of Troutman and was a mentor to a special friend Daniel Rosales.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.troutmanfuneralhome.com .
