Kenneth Marsh

Kenneth Lamar Marsh, Sr., 89, of Statesville, passed away on Monday. April 14, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House.

Kenneth was born March 14, 1936, in Georgetown, SC, to the late Willard Delmar Marsh and Erma Perry Marsh.

He attended high school in Georgetown, SC and then entered the US Navy, the US Air Force, the Air National Guard, as well as the US Army National Guard. He was a faithful member of South River Baptist Church, and the owner of Mid-South Communications, covering 17 counties.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Elizabeth Marsh Holcomb and a sister, Margaret Marsh.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 68 years, Doris Elizabeth Wadkins Marsh; son, Colonel (Ret.) Kenneth Marsh, Jr. (Laura); grandchildren, Emily M. Holcomb, Lillian Marsh Van Pelt (Nelson) and Tiffany Marsh Acosta (Jose); five great grandchildren, Sebastian Acosta, Victoria Van Pelt, Mia Acosta, Alexander Van Pelt and Jenevecia Acosta.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 21 at South River Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Chris Thompson and Rev. Dr. Hampton Drum. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
