Joseph Keith Jones, aka “Doc”, 62, of Troutman, left this world on Monday, May 12, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side.

Keith was born on June 3, 1962, in Iredell County.

He leaves behind his mother, Edith J. Martin of Troutman; his wife and fishing partner of 17 years, Shirley Jones of the home; his daughter, Treasure Moore (Roger) of Axton, VA; his son, Jesse Hylton (Chesnee) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Maddox Moore, Jonah Hicksroper, and Dalton Hylton; special friends, Jamie Walker, Lewis Walker, Mike, Bity, Lee Hyltt, and so many more; his dog, Booker and his cat, Bobby.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 15 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends following the service.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Pam Sholar and her team and hospice and palliative care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
