Kay B. Mccurry

May 24, 1948 - January 19, 2014 Kay McCurry, 65, of Cleveland, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2014. She was born May 24, 1948, the daughter of the late Alex Bradford and the late Jessie Mae Bradford. She was a lady who faithfully loved God and her family and friends. She was a member of Ostwalt Baptist Church in Troutman and was retired from Freightliner. Ms. Kay was loved and respected by many and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Earl McCurry; her son, Scotty Glenn McCurry; her parents, Alex and Jessie Mae Bradford; and by two of her brothers, Harry Bradford and Johnny Bradford. Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Pamela McCurry of Cleveland, Tracey McCurry of Woodleaf, Jessica Cordes of China Grove and Sandra (Tim) Henderson of Rockwell; her grandchildren, Kayla Edwards, Jake and Jordan Martin, Emily and Zoie Cordes, and Savannah and Sawyer Henderson; her brother Larry (Doris) Bradford of Mt. Ulla: her sisters Judy (Jim) Bennett of Salisbury, Susan (Mike) Zimmerman and Glenda (Donnie) Spainhour, both of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 23th, from 1 - 2 pm, followed by the funeral at 2 pm, at Ostwalt Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held on Friday, at 1pm, January 24, at the McCurry Family Cemetery in Burnsville in Yancey County.
