Kathryn Brown Barnett

Kathryn Brown Barnett, 82, of Troutman, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born on Sept. 6, 1930 in Iredell County to the late Raymond Brooks Brown and Mae Freeze Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Barnett; a son, Danny Lynn Barnett; and a brother, Leroy Furr. Kathryn had a love and fascination with lighthouses and enjoyed eating out at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Cooper of Troutman and Shirley Snow of Virginia; grandchildren, Joely Snow (Michael) Taylor of Australia, Kelly Snow Lemmer of Virginia, Brooks (Christie) Barnett of Virginia, Stacy Barnett (Chad) Shull of Granite Falls, and Cecelia and Nicholas Cooper, both of Florida; and great grandchildren, Chloe Taylor, Tyler and Andrew Lemmer, Laney, Will, Mason, Easton, Crystal, Tanner and Matthew Barnett and Ryan Cooper. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Beulah Heights Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Trent Patterson and Rev. Bill Pharr officiating. No graveside service will be held. The family would like to extend their special "thank you" to the Gordon Hospice House personnel for the love and care they gave to Kathryn.
