Kathleen (Johnson) King

Kathleen Johnson King, 98, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Autumn Care of Statesville.

Kathleen was born in Iredell County on August 15, 1923 to the late J. Boyce Johnson and Victoria Alexander Johnson. She graduated from Sharon High School and was married to the late Ray W. King, who preceded her in death in 2005.  Kathleen worked at Iredell Memorial Hospital as a secretary for 25 years before her retirement.  She was a charter member of Forest Park Presbyterian Church and will be remembered as someone who loved visiting and loving on people.

Kathleen is survived by her son; Fred King, daughter; Karen K. Graves (Stewart), sister-cousin; Betty Godfrey, grandson; Kenneth King (Kendra), granddaughters; Kimberly Ehasz (Tye), Kristi Fisher (Kent), grandson; John Paschall and great-grandson; Kaden Ehasz.  She was preceded in death by her brothers; Leroy, JB, and Burl Johnson.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Scott Jeffreys officiating.  The family will visit with friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forest Park Presbyterian Church, 1026 Davie Ave, Statesville, NC 28677.
