Judy Hope

Judy Monez Nicks Hope, 69, of Statesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Judy was born December 5, 1955, in Iredell County, to the late Horace Nicks and Lucille Pierce. She was a graduate of Statesville High School (Class of ’74) and she was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was a vibrant lady who was always smiling. She loved traveling with her family and anyone who knew her knew she loved talking on the phone. She enjoyed her various caregiving positions, caring for the elderly, and running an in-home daycare for more than 30 years, where her loving daycare children referred to her as “Ms. Judy”.  She had a special message for her daycare kids, that she loved and adored them.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Terry “Andrew” Hope, Jr. She looked forward to reuniting with Andrew in Heaven.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, whom she loved very much, Christie Hope Robinson and Amanda Hope; father of her children, Terry Hope and her boyfriend, Michael James; sister, Terri Nicks Lane (Steve); brother, Joseph Nicks (Kristy); grandchildren, Kolby, Kaleah, and Andrea Robinson; along with nieces and nephews, Justin Lane-Brady (Tommy), Elliot Lane (Tannhya) and Stephanie Lane (Cameron).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 14 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Holman and Rev. Dan Money officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 13 at Troutman Funeral Home.
