Judy Byers

Judith Faye Haithcox Byers, 75, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

She was born in Iredell County on March 15, 1949, to the late James Haithcox and Drusilla Bass Haithcox. She grew up in the Scotts community and was part of the first graduating class of North Iredell High School. In 1969, she married David Franklin Byers, who survives.

She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She worked for Iredell Head, Neck & Ear, and retired from Iredell-Statesville Schools as a Teacher’s Assistant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Darrin Byers.

Along with her husband of 55 years, those left to cherish her memory are son, Chad Byers of Statesville; grandsons, Justin Byers and Brandon Byers; great granddaughter, Saylor Byers; brothers, Jerry Haithcox (Gilda), and David Haithcox (Donna); nieces, Jayme Deane, Nicki Winters, and Krystal Allen; special friend, Cynthia McLaurin; beloved fur baby, Bella.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 8 at Beulah Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Brian Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
