Joye Irene Holmes

Joye Irene Holmes of Olin, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the age of 74 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, North Carolina. She was born on October 20, 1949, in Iredell County to the late Robert Flake Holmes and Alnora Mahaffey Holmes.

Joye was an educator at Harmony Elementary School for thirty years.  She was a loving care giver to her mother for many years and served others in the community.  She enjoyed reading the Bible and was a woman of faith.  She enjoyed history and genealogy.

Those left to cherish her memory are numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 17,2024,  at Winthrop Friends Meeting in Harmony, NC with Pastor Georgianne Hartline officiating. A burial will follow at Macedonia Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
