Joyce Simpson

Joyce Louise Nantz Simpson, 90, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Gordon Hospice House.

Joyce was born October 23, 1933 in Mooresville, NC to the late Morrison and Rena Phillips Nantz. She graduated from Mooresville High School, class of 1952 and on May 5, 1961, she married the late William Ervin Simpson, Sr., who passed away August 5, 2004. She retired from Northwestern Bank and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, William (Billy) E. Simpson, Jr. and wife Terry of Statesville and one sister, Elizabeth Nantz Lowe of Mooresville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard A. Nantz, one sister, Vivian Nantz Bowles; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Lowe, Edsel Bowles, a sister-in-law, Mary Nantz, two nephews and one niece.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday, March 11, 2024 at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service.
