Joseph Shuford Young, 67, passed away on September 28, 2026, following declining health. He was born on August 4, 1959, in Statesville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry S. and Sylvia L. Young.
He is survived by his brothers Bradley (Evelyn) Young and Chris (Tracy) Young, his nephew Alex (Ericka) Young and nieces Nikki (Colt) Smith, Allison (Amy) Young and Angela (Lonnie) Swink as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Statesville Senior High School and Mitchell Community College. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to Myrtle Beach and going on Carnival cruises. He loved music and singing.
Joe was a truly kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed.
