Johnny Dwight Jolly

Johnny Dwight Jolly. Jr., 63, of Troutman, passed away, unexpectedly, Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Johnny was born October 10, 1955 in Iredell Count and was the son of Peggy Poole Jolly of Troutman and the late Johnny “Buck” Dwight Jolly, Sr. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School, Mitchell Community College, received his Masters from UNC Greensboro and studied for his Doctorate at Indiana University. He worked as an English teacher at South Iredell High School for over 20 years and never missed a day. He loved running, classical music, reading and collecting antiques.

In addition to his mother, Johnny is survived by a niece, Megan Jolly of Statesville, one great niece, Aubrey Jolly of Statesville and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Jolly.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2019 at the South Iredell High School Performing Arts Center with Rev. JB Parker and Rev. John Stevenson officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service.
