John Carl Shore

John Carl Shore, 81, of Troutman, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Carl was born on October 26, 1942 to the late B. Clyde Shore and Katherine H. Shore of Winston-Salem.

He was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy.  He was in the U.S. Coast Guard and served in the Honor Guard during President Kennedy's term.

Carl had many adventurous jobs in his career but spent most of his life working as an OSHA inspector.

Carl loved his family and was with them any time he had the chance. The mere mention of his grandchildren brought a smile to his face and gave him a reason to talk about them to anyone who would listen.

He was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Barbara Shore Hudgens, and son John Stephen Shore.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 36 years Joann Shore; son Christopher Clyde Shore and his wife Leslie; daughter-in-law Gina Shore; stepson Tim Segraves; grandchildren Josh Shore, Jordan Shore, Jessica Shore, Riley Shore, Sully Shore, and Brandi Jo Segraves; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 2 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior at 1 pm on Saturday at the church.
