John Wesley Harding

John Wesley Harding, 42, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his residence.

John was born December 10, 1982, to Lisa Rymer Mayfield and the late James Ray Harding. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School. He loved his dogs, Prissy Ann and Boomer. He enjoyed playing guitar, and he loved music. He was an avid lover of Hot Wheels.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, Terry Allen Mayfield and grandparents, Tom and Ginger Cox.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish John’s memory are his fiancé, Rebecca Johnston; uncles, Thomas Cox II (Daysi), Scott Rymer (Jenny) and James Cox (Tangie); special cousins, Alex and Gabriel Cox; his beloved dogs, Prissy Ann and Boomer.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iredell County Humane Society, 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.

Arrangements for Mr. Harding are in the care of Troutman Funeral Home.
