John Henry Fox, 90 of Statesville, passed away, Monday, March 27, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.
John Henry was born March 19, 1933 in Iredell County, the son of the late Rome Mitchell Fox and Hazel Catherine Dellinger Fox. He attended Cool Spring High School where he played football, baseball, and basketball. He started his career with JC Steele & Sons and later retired from B & B Fabricators. He was a talented draftsman, fabricator and licensed building contractor. In July of 1967 John married his wife, Bobbi Jean Morrison who survives. Some of John’s favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, and playing ball. He was a sports enthusiast who loved beach vacations and working on the farm. He attended Boulevard United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish the memory of John, include his wife of 56 years, Bobbi, his children Dale Fox (Leslie), Gill Fox (Rhonda), Kellie Thompson (Russell), Carey Fox (Angie), Brian Fox (Jennifer), his sister Katherine Rains Price, 18 grandkids, and 7 great grandkids. John was preceded in death by his parents along with his two brothers Homer “Buck” Fox and Brice Fox and one sister Nancy Fox Mills.
The family will be celebrating “John Henry” Day on Saturday, April 8th from 2-6 p.m. at Cull Valley Ranch, 188 Nabors Rd in Statesville. Please feel free to bring a chair and some drinks. Come spend time at John’s favorite place with his family to honor his legacy.
