Joel Kent Mcdaniel

Joel Kent McDaniel, 72, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Joel was born on February 22, 1952, in Iredell County to the late Jospeh Conway McDaniel and Barbara Lee Robertson McDaniel and graduated from North Iredell High School. In 1973, he married his wife, Janice Gail Freeze McDaniel and both were members of Friendship Methodist Church. He later retired from Hardy Brothers as a truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma McDaniel and Bobbie Jean McDaniel O’Carroll.

He is survived by his wife, Janice McDaniel; daughter, Nicole McDaniel of Charlotte; son, Joel Conway McDaniel of Statesville; and grandchildren, Chesney Pullis, Zach Pullis, Annabel McDaniel, J.C. McDaniel, and Samantha McDaniel.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Friendship Methodist Church with Bobby Lorton officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:30-3:00 and burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff on the ICU floor at Baptist Hospital for their love and care.
