Joann Morrison

Joann Byers Morrison, 87, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Joann was born March 10, 1937, in Alexander County and was the daughter of the late Archie and Cleo Johnson Byers. She was a graduate of Scotts High School, class of 1955 and on June 8, 1956, she married Curtis Wayne Morrison, who survives, of Statesville. Together they were members of Western Avenue Baptist Church, and she was retired from Dixie Liberty Plant Foods.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Kenny Morrison (Denise) of Statesville, Gwen Casey (Joel) of Statesville, David Morrison (Sandra) of Watkinsville, GA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and four siblings, Peggy Gray of Statesville, Doyte Byers (Linda) of Stony Point, Brenda Stewart (Don) of Statesville and Dale Byers (Joyce) of Tampa, FL.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy DeJarnette.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 26, at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Spry officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service.
