Jimmy Reeves Sipes

Jimmy Reeves Sipes, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Born in Iredell County, Jim was the son of the late Ross Andrew Sipes and Essie Burns Sipes. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Nancy Waugh Sipes and son Ronnie Eugene Sipes.

Jim was a graduate of Celeste Henkel High School and worked for J.C. Penney for 36 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed shooting pool with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Wesley and wife, Carol, granddaughter, Heather Baldwin (Steve), grandsons, Chris Sipes (Amber) and Justin Sipes (Elizabeth) along with seven great grandchildren, Luke and Hunter Baldwin, Chloe, Kerrigan, Harper, Parker and Lincoln Sipes. Also surviving is his sister, Laverne Boynton of Idaho.

Mr. Sipes will lie in state Friday morning, November 18, 2022 at Troutman Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Friday, November 18 at Iredell Memorial Gardens at 1:00pm with his pastor the Rev. Larry Holleman of Diamond Hill Baptist Church officiating. Burial and visitation will follow the service.
