Jimmy Ray Millsaps

Jimmy Ray Millsaps, 80 of Troutman, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Millsaps was born May 8, 1943, in Iredell County.  He was the son of the late James and Ruth (Galliher) Millsaps.  Jimmy was the owner/operator of his family farm, he loved hunting, but he especially loved his family.  He was a faithful follower of Christ and had served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  He was most recently a member of Troutman Baptist Church.

Along with his parents Mr. Millsaps was preceded in death by his son, Paul D. Millsaps.

Those left to cherish Jimmy’s life and legacy include his wife of 59 years Shirley Benge Millsaps, his son Ken (Amy) Millsaps, his brother Benny (Barbara) Millsaps, his grandchildren Jack Millsaps, Katie (Lucas) Jones and Sam Millsaps.

A funeral service for Mr. Millsaps will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Monday, June 5, 2023 at Troutman Baptist Church, Rev. John Stevenson and Rev. Clayton Rivenbark will officiate.  The family plans to greet friends at the church from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm prior to the service.  Burial will follow the funeral at Snow Creek United Methodist Church.
