Jimmy Lee Mccann

April 4, 1940 - September 12, 2017 Jimmy Lee McCann, 77, of Statesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. He was born on April 4, 1940 in Union Grove to the late Roscoe McCann and Elsie Burchan McCann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Colleen Mills McCann; son, Brinkley "Mac" Daney McCann and wife Cindy of Sykesville, MD; daughter, Lea Rene McCann Hughes and husband Chuck of Cleveland, NC, and three grandchildren, Justin McCann, Carrigan McCann, and Madeline McCann. Jimmy worked in the tire shop for Carolina Freight Company for over thirty years. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and loved any John Wayne movie. He will always be remembered for being a family man and was a big advocate for the McCann reunions. The funeral service will be held at Grassy Knob Baptist Church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Seaford and Rev. Fred Carlton officiating. The committal will immediately follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. McCann’s memory may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd.
