Jessie Rose Clendenin Frazier

Jessie Rose Clendenin Frazier, 79, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her daughter’s home surrounded by family.

Jessie was born July 15, 1946, in Iredell County to the late James Edward and Jessie Padgett Clendenin. She was a life-long member of New Salem UMC and she worked as a medical transcriptionist at Davis Hospital for many years. She was a devoted caregiver for several family members, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved playing the piano and organ and she loved gardening.

In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph “Perky” Frazier, and her dear son, Chad Frazier.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joy F. Murphy (Michael), and her grandchildren, Lauren and James Murphy.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 5 at New Salem UMC with Rev. Tony Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Salem UMC, 155 New Salem Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
