Jay Brim

February 11, 1926 - August 20, 2013: Gloma "Jay" Brim, 87, of Mooresville NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. He was born in Surry County on February 11, 1926, to the late Romney Samuel and Voda Gammons Brim. He worked most of his life as a carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Arrington Brim; son, Ronald (Priscilla) Brim of Pilot Mountain, NC; daughter, Clorinda (Shawn) Hall of Cleveland, NC: stepdaughter, Becky Mabe (Bill) Donley of Walkertown, NC; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Oleata Chilton and Kornella Martin, and his brothers, Plato, Delbert, and Reavis Brim. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leeroni Easter and Vernie Watson, and his brother, Bronson Brim. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Troutman Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 12:30 - 2 pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 2 pm officiated by the Rev. Charles Reep. Interment will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to Serenity House, 110 Centre Church Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.
