Janice Evon Gryder Goodman

Janice Evon Gryder Goodman, 90, of Statesville, passed away Monday, June 15, at her daughter’s home in Garner, NC.

Janice was born March 6, 1936, in Iredell County, and was the daughter of the late William Everette Gryder and Ollie Bynum Gryder.

She retired from Clark Schwabel as a machine operator and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry F. Goodman in 2011; daughter, Donna Davidson; grandson, Daniel Gray Goodman, brother, Gary Gryder and niece, Tara Manuel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Todd Goodman (Karen); daughter, Michelle Joines; grandchildren, Nikki Davidson, Cody Davidson, Justin Davidson, Gary Goodman (Stacey) and Jarrett Joines (Anais).

She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Zoe Haneline, Layla Davidson, Andruw Joines, and Alana Joines; sister, Libby G. Saleh and niece, Karen Wilson.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 19, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church.

The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Roger Holland officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
