Jane Johnson

Jane J. Johnson, 88, of Statesville, NC, went to her heavenly home on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Jane was born in Iredell County to the late Richard Austin Jordan and Deemie Brooks Jordan. She was married for 52 years to Brady H. Johnson, who preceded her in death.

After high school, she attended Davis Hospital School of Nursing in Statesville, NC. Upon graduation in 1958, she started her nursing career at Davis Hospital. In 1966, she moved to the VA Hospital in Salisbury, NC and continued working there until she retired at the age of 73. A nursing career spanning almost 53 years was one way she fulfilled her lifelong passion for helping others.

She is survived by two sons, Scott Johnson of Stony Point, NC and Nelson (Susan) Johnson of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsay) Johnson of Statesville, NC, Brian (Brittani) Johnson of Robbins, NC, and Sarah Johnson of Raleigh, NC; one great-grandson, Easton Johnson, son of Brian and Brittani; and one brother-in-law, C.O. “Jap” (Carol) Johnson of Stateville, NC. Jane will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Additionally, Jane is survived by wonderful and dedicated friends Landrea and Rick Rhyne of Statesville, NC and their family, and Allen and Carol Johnson of Monroe, NC and their family. Jane was similarly blessed to have loving and compassionate caregivers: Leonard LaBrake, Ayonna Pierce, Annette Longhi and Crystal Hooks.

Visitation will be from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Troutman Funeral Home (345 North Main Street, Troutman, NC).

Graveside funeral services will be held at Pisgah Methodist Church (488 Hill Farm Rd, Hiddenite, NC) on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:00am. Rev. Scott Jeffreys will officiate.
