James Ted Orren

James Ted Orren, 87 of Statesville, died Sunday February 19, 2023, at his home under the great care of Hospice of Iredell County.

Mr. Orren was born August 23, 1935, in Iredell County the son of the late James Boyd Orren and Ethel Putnam Orren.  He was a graduate of Troutman High School and honorably served his country in the US Army for 3 years active duty, followed by 25 years with the NC National Guard.  He succeeded with 27 jumps as a paratrooper while in the service.  Ted retired from JC Penney Distribution center have worked there for more than 30 years.  In retirement he enjoyed working for North Iredell High School and Wilson Security.  Ted was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Statesville.  He was married to his beloved wife, Betty Ford Orren who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Orren is survived by his sons, James Mark Orren and John Todd Orren, a nephew, Mike Robinson, and uncle, Leroy Ford.

A private service will be held at a later date.  The family extends their gratitude to the Hospice of Iredell County. The Orren’s ask that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
