James "Jimmy" Franklin Brown, 76, of Troutman, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Gordon Hospice House of Statesville. He was born on March 26, 1934 to the late Leon Atwood Brown, Sr. and Laura Rebecca Kerr Brown. Mr. Brown was married to the late Sarah Ruth Caldwell Brown who passed away on April 11, 2010. He was Vice President of Troutman Industries and was a lifelong member of New Perth A.R.P. Church where he served as an Elder. He graduated from Troutman High School, attended Erskine College, was an Eagle Scout and served in the U. S. Army. He is survived by a son, William Alan Brown of Raleigh; a daughter, Patricia Ann Brown Reavis and husband, Phillip, of Greenville, SC; one sister, Helen Lois Brown of Charlotte, NC; and a granddaughter, Anna Kerr Reavis of Greenville, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Kerr Brown McCain and a brother, Leon Atwood Brown, Jr. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon and evening, October 12th at the home located at 415 Wagner St. in Troutman. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, at New Perth A.R.P. Church Cemetery in Troutman. A memorial service celebrating the life of Jimmy will be held immediately following the burial at 11:00 a.m. at New Perth A.R.P. Church.
