Jacob Mitch Goodman

Jacob Mitch Goodman, 39, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at his home.

Jacob was born on August 19, 1984, in Iredell County and was the son of Cory and Kim Porter Goodman. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he grew to have a strong faith in God. Jacob was a graduate of West Iredell High School and went on to graduate from NC State University. He enjoyed working on cars and electric scooters, loved music, people and his family and was an overall creative person. Above all, Jacob was an amazing father and friend.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his best friend and life partner, Mary Beth Pence, son, Cory Scott Goodman, sister, Ashley Tomlin (Tyler), nieces, Taeya and Gemma Tomlin, paternal grandmother, Glenda Goodman, aunts and uncles, Sabrina Moore (Aaron), Slade Goodman (Edwina), Dana Fox (Richard), Phyllis Wilson (Larry), special great aunt, Carol Phillips and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lib and Ludie Thigpen, paternal grandfather, Bud Goodman and special uncle, Ronnie Goodman.

The family will visit with friends Wednesday, August 7, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church in the Life Center. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Steve Kramm officiating.
