Ira Wayne Elledge

Ira “Wayne” Elledge, 80, of Statesville, NC passed away Monday, September 28, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House.

Born in Iredell County on June 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Ira Monroe Elledge and Zemmie Mahaffey Elledge.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Willis; grandson, Juston Harris and daughter-in-law, Lisa Elledge.

Wayne graduated high school and worked for Overcash Electric and Marvin Church Grading.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Flood Elledge; children, David Elledge (Shana), Jason Harris (Janet), Andrew Harris (Trish) and Amy Sherrill; grandchildren, Courtney (Zack) Cartner, Alston Harris, Macy Sherrill, Maggie Sherrill and Jordan Austin; and great-grandchild, Aiden Kilpatrick.

The graveside service will be held Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt Sinai Evangelical Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating.
