Idell Rankin

April 17, 1921 - September 21, 2016 Idell Irene Rankin, 95, of Statesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born April 17, 1921 in Lancaster, SC to the late Annie Lou Deese Pryor and John Wiley Pryor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Harvey Rankin Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Suther and Jean Isenhour; son, Vernon (Lynn) Harvey Jr.; grandsons, Michael (Tammy) Suther, Bryan "BI" (Kristen) Isenhour; granddaughters, Missy (Jamie) Wells, Jennifer (Chris) Crouch; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Rankin loved reading, cooking, gardening, and to solve crossword puzzles. She will truly be missed by all, including her cat, Smokey, and family dog, Rusty, both of which she dearly loved. The family will receive friends at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Henry Cook officiating. Interment will be held at Iredell Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Rankin’s memory may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625 or Beulah Baptist Church, 1851 Old Mountain Road, Statesville, NC 28677.
