Helen Lewis Sherrill

Helen Lewis Sherrill, 85, passed away Feb. 19, 2010, at her residence in Troutman. She was born in Iredell County July 24, 1924, to the late Charlie and Dolan Lawson Lewis. She was a member of New Perth ARP Church and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she appreciated the simple things of life. She is survived by one son, Rodger Dale Sherrill and wife Donna, of Troutman; one sister, Bernice L. Murdock, of Wilkesboro; and one granddaughter, Angela Marie Sherrill, of Troutman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Howard Sherrill Sr.; one son, Lynn Howard Sherrill Jr.; three sisters, Rachel L. Swayne, Gert L. Byers and Mary Emma Lewis; and two brothers, Palmer and Ohne Lewis. A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Paul Childers officiating.
