Helen Propst

September 9, 1939 - September 19, 2016 Helen Eloise Propst passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at her residence in Scott, Louisiana. A native of Lenoir, NC, Helen has been a resident of Scott for the last 23 years. She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Brooks and her husband Andre’ of Scott; two sons, Kenneth Sipes and Robert Sipes of Hickory, NC; two sisters, Juanita Eastwood of Tavares, FL, and Ruby Womack of Statesville, NC; brother, Doug Brown of Lenoir, NC; brother-in-law, Ludy Thigpin; four grandchildren, Kenneth Gouge, Ethan Brooks, Robbie Sipes, Erica Sipes, and Hallie Parrish, and four great-grandchildren, Lucy Brooks, Van Brooks, Jordan Grace Alexander, and John Alexander. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Propst; her parents, Flora and William T. Brown; one sister, Betty Thigpin; one brother, William R. Brown, and brother-in-laws, Bobby Womack, Richard Eastwood; and nephews, Mark Kirk and Chris Stevens. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept 27, 2016 at Temple Baptist Church of Statesville, NC with Pastor Randy Mitchell officiating. Interment will be at Enon Baptist Church of Salisbury, NC. The family would like to thank Andy Brooks, Ethan Brooks, Kenneth Gouge, Robert Sipes, Frank Sipes, and Doug Brown for serving as pallbearers.
