With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mom and Nana, Helen Marshall, who went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the age of 74.
Helen was a tender-hearted, strong, compassionate, and hardworking woman whose love knew no boundaries. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Above all else, Helen treasured her family. She was an extraordinary mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who went above and beyond for each of her grandchildren. Whether it was through her comforting hugs, words of encouragement, acts of service, or simply being present during life’s special moments, she made each one feel deeply loved and cherished. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys, and she poured her heart into creating precious memories that will be treasured forever. Helen’s strong work ethic and selfless nature were evident in everything she did. She served others with grace and humility, leaving a lasting example of unconditional love, faithfulness, and generosity. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome.
While our hearts grieve this tremendous loss, we find comfort in knowing that our mom and Nana is now in the presence of her Savior, healed and at peace, reunited with her beloved husband, David, and all her siblings, especially her twin sister, Ellen. We are grateful for the blessing of having had her in our lives and for the legacy of love, faith, and kindness she leaves behind. Helen will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other surviving family members, as well as by many friends and loved ones whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, David Lee Marshall; her parents, Kenneth Davis Copeland and Opal Ruth Burks Copeland; and siblings, Daniel Oscar Copeland, Kenneth Edward Copeland, Jeff Davis Copeland, Ellen Copeland Fox (twin sister), Karen Lynn Copeland, Herbert Lee Copeland and Jerry Wayne Copeland.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Padgett (Todd); son, Shannon Mason (Maria); stepdaughter, Hope Marshall (Jeff); stepson, DJ Marshall; grandchildren, Brandon Padgett, Taylor Roether (Tyler), Sarah Mason, Anna Mason, Colby Padgett (Isabella), Grayson Marshall, Maylea Marshall; great-grandchildren Hadley and Kolsen Roether; and her beloved dog Radio.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at Eufola Baptist Church. A celebration of Helen’s life will follow Pastor Matt Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Though we will miss her dearly, we rejoice in the promise that we will see her again. The family is deeply grateful for the many prayers, encouragement, and expressions of sympathy during this season of loss. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort, and we sincerely appreciate your continued prayers.
