Hazel Marie (Collins) Lail

Mrs. Hazel Marie Collins Lail, 90, of Troutman, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Autumn Care of Statesville.

Mrs. Lail was born October 30, 1928 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late A.D. Collins and Callie Clark Collins. She was married to the late John Clifford Lail for 69 years. She is survived by a sister, Sarah Hoover of Statesville, NC; four children: Connie Linyard (Hewitt) of Statesville, NC, Tim Lail (June) of Shelby, NC, Don Lail (Angie) of Monroe, NC, and Doug Lail (Karen) of Troutman, NC; eight grandchildren: Luann Kennedy (Lee), Lauren Del Aguila (Ron), Brad Lail, Katie Lail, John Lail (Bethani), Kristin Basch (Greg), Matthew Lail (Kristen), and Ryan Lail. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lail graduated from Troutman High School and was a faithful member of Troutman Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and played the piano for over 40 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved serving, caring, and praying for her family. She adored flowers and enjoyed contributing arrangements to her church and family. She also enjoyed sewing throughout her life and made lovely quilts for all her children and grandchildren until her health no longer allowed it. Her loving presence will remain forever close in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Autumn Care and Hospice of Iredell County for their loving care of Mrs. Lail and the many kindnesses shown to her and her family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019 at Troutman Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Brown, Rev. J.B. Parker, and Rev. John Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends before the service Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
