Gregory Lee Proffitt

Gregory Lee Proffitt, 64, of Statesville, was received in the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Greg was born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 7, 1962, to R.C. Proffitt and the late Virginia Brown Proffitt.

He worked for Laws Stained Glass for over 30 years. They were like family to him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 32 years, Joyce Jones Proffitt; sons, Daniel Proffitt (Chasity) and Ian Proffitt; daughter, Kendra Pearson (Nick); and grandchildren, Jameson Eller, Danica Proffitt and Jonathon Bishop. He is further survived by one sister, Lesa Proffitt; a nephew, Noah Clendenin; and many other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Beulah Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Brian Burgess. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunday Evening Bible Study, 3801 Hickory Hwy, Statesville, NC 28677 or to the Forged Men’s Ministry (Beulah Baptist Church, 1851 Old Mountain Rd., Statesville, NC 28677).
