Mr. Grady Murdock, 89, of Troutman, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. Murdock was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman. He worked as a farmer and dump truck driver. Born March 9, 1924, he was the son of the late John Carl and Mamie Wallace Murdock.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Murdock was preceded in death by his infant son, Gary Murdock, and by his son, Randy Murdock, in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Hubert Murdoch, Roger Murdock, Harry Murdock, Paul Dean Murdock, J.C. Murdock, and Hal Murdock.
Married for 68 years, Mr. Murdock is survived by his wife, Alma Wagner Murdock. Other survivors include his son, Jerry Murdock; his daughters, Rosemary Alexander (Charlie), Lorraine Taylor (Bobby), and Christine Osborne (Rod); his daughter-in-law, ReNey Murdock; his brothers, Kenard Murdock, Russell Murdock, and Sheldon Murdock; 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Troutman. Pallbearers will be Mr. Murdock's grandsons: Randy Murdock, Jamie Murdock, Douglas Haneline, Bobby Taylor, Michael Taylor, Matthew Osborne, and grand son-in-law Graham Suggs.
