Statesville

Glindora Motley Smith, 69, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on April 4th. She was born in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Glindora was a woman of deep strength, unwavering love, and steadfast faith. She proudly served her country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, carrying that same sense of dedication and resilience into every part of her life. After her military service, she began her career with Freightliner in 2002, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2018. Above all else, Glindora’s greatest joy was her family. She was the heart of it all—the glue that held everyone together. Her love was constant, selfless, and deeply felt by all who knew her. She poured herself into her role as a mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Her sons, Draven Hauser (wife Madison, son Samuel) and Brandon Smith (wife Leah, sons Peyton and Jaxon), were her pride and joy. She shared a special and loving bond with her daughters-in-law, whom she embraced as her own.

She is also survived by her sister, Kim (husband Jason), and their daughter, Renae, all of whom she loved dearly. Glindora was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Motley.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Glindora lived her life with compassion, grace, and a servant’s heart. Her faith guided her, and her love for others was evident in everything she did. She believed deeply in the power of love, family, and the promise of eternal life. One of her most cherished quotes was, “If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.” Those words now echo the love her family carries for her—a love that will never fade. Glindora leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered as the foundation of her family—the one who kept everyone close, no matter what.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Levine's Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House in support of her grandsons.
