Glenn Sigmon, 89, of Troutman, went home to be with his heavenly Father on January 7, 2013. He was born on August 11, 1923 to the late William Sigmon and Mary Haas Sigmon. His wife, Myrtle Westmoreland Sigmon, preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Glenn was a man of God and a very well known paint contractor in the community. He was an active member of Ostwalt Baptist Church where he was the oldest serving member. He served as a deacon in the church for many years and also was a choir leader. The mission field was very close to Glenn’s heart and he traveled to several foreign countries to on building and witness trips. Mr. Sigmon is survived by his son, Larry and wife, Nancy, of Troutman; three grandchildren, Kimberly Sigmon Sherrill and husband, Jake, Bradley Sigmon and Lance Sigmon, all of Troutman; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Ostwalt Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ostwalt Baptist Church, PO Box 275, Troutman, NC 28166.Visits: 0
