July 19, 1915 - Mar. 16, 2016
Gladys M. Gingell, 100 years old, of Troutman, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on March 16, 2016.
She was born on July 19, 1915 in Little Swamico, WI to the late Christian and Clara (Lade) Christiansen and was the widow of the late John Gingell. She has been in God’s family her entire life and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman.
Gladys was no stranger to hard work and hard times, but she always rose above her challenges with a smile. She and John were married for 56 years and lived in Michigan and Pennsylvania. She and John had a wonderful life together, and loved traveling nationally and internationally visiting fascinating places. The most important part of both of their lives, though, was spending time with their family. Gladys moved to Troutman with her daughter and son-in-law about 9 years ago.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Anita, wife of Barry General; three grandchildren, Lisa Johnston, Jennifer Ebersole, and Todd General; and four great grandchildren, Matthew and Caitlin Johnston, Aiden Ebersole, and Ty General.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman with the Rev. Dieter Punt officiating.
