Garry Wayne Ladd, Sr.

Mr. Garry Wayne “Porky” Ladd, Sr., 66, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his home.

Garry was born November 19, 1954 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Paul Columbus Ladd and Virginia Matheson Ladd. He attended Statesville City Schools and on July 1, 1979, he married Becky Hoover Ladd, who survives. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Stony Point and recently was employed at L. Gordon Iron & Metal and Ride with Pride Carwash. He loved watching the New York Yankees and his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always early everywhere he went. He looked forward to being the first in line at school to pick up his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Garry is survived by two children, Amy Ladd (Damon), Garry Ladd, Jr. (Crystal) both of Statesville; four grandchildren, Rebecca Ladd, Caleb Ladd, Piper Ladd, Grayson Turner; two sisters, Barbara Ladd and Pamela Wingler (Tommy) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Ladd and Curtis Matheson.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Rash officiating. Mr. Ladd will lie in state on Wednesday from 9:00-2:30pm at Troutman Funeral Home.
