Gail Jones

Gail Jones, 65, of Statesville, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on July 28, 1959, to the late William Wayne Nixon and Doris Miller Nixon.

Gail was a graduate of South Iredell High School and was co-owner and bookkeeper of Little J’s Backhoe Service. She was married to William “Billy” Jones, who survives, in 1986.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, William Andrew Jones (Emily), of Statesville; granddaughter, Evelyn Ann Jones, of Statesville; sisters, Deborah Bass, of Mooresville, Joan Nixon, of Statesville; and niece Anna McCord. She was preceded in death by brothers, Philip Nixon and William Worth Nixon.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at 2:00 pm at Lake Harvest Church of God, with Rev. Matt Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, October 15 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home.
