Frances Virginia Wallace Bass Overcash, 94, of Statesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Frances was born on January 8, 1924 in Belmont, NC to the late Robert Wade Wallace and Petti Jennings Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Jackson Bass in 1990; second husband, Clyde Overcash in 2006; stepson, Kenneth Overcash; step-daughter, Dean Bruce, and son-in-law, Derald Wright. As the youngest of nine children, she was also preceded in death by all of her siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Jack Bass (Sue) and Billy Bass (Joan), daughters, Janet B. Wright and Doris B. Lytton (Tommy); stepson, Lee R. Overcash (Sandra); eight grandchildren, David Wright (Emily), Jason Wright, Eddie Bass, Michelle L. Carson (Dennis), Traci L. Sharpe (Bobby), Richard McCall, Travis Bass (Jennifer) and Tammy Miller (Mike); nine step-grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Frances was a life-long member of Troutman Baptist Church. She worked in textiles as a spinner at Chemspun for over 20 years. Frances held her family close to her heart. She will always be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
The family will receive friends at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Stevenson and Rev. Jamie Fox officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
