Frances Lynn (Calhoun) Cole

Frances Lynn Calhoun Cole, 74, of Statesville passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Frances was born on September 7, 1949, in Fayetteville, NC and was the daughter of the late Leon and Vila Autry Calhoun. She was a graduate of Hope Mills High School, Greensboro College, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was married in Fayetteville, NC on July 19, 1970, to Donnie Ray Cole who preceded her in death in the year 2000. Frances was a retired dental hygienist and was a member of First Baptist Church in Statesville. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, traveling, knitting, cooking and loving on her fur babies. She had an infectious smile and great sense of humor. Mostly, she had an amazingly strong faith that never wavered.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Steven Calhoun of Fayetteville, NC.

She is survived by a son, Jason David Cole (Melanie) of Statesville, NC; her daughter, Jennifer Cole Craig (Ryan) of Morrisville, NC; one granddaughter, Grace Rae Cole of Statesville, NC; and two grandsons, Anderson Hunt Craig and Cole Franklin Craig, both of Morrisville, NC.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 Wednesday June 19 at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville with Rev. Brian Burgess officiating.
