Faye Milstead Medlin, 77, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Medlin was born October 22, 1941 in Alexander County and was the daughter of the late Walter Milstead and Christine Little Milstead. She was a graduate of Alexander County High Schools and Appalachian College with a degree in Education. On May 29, 1964, she married Daniel “Dan” Franklin Medlin, who survives. She was an Elementary School Teacher for 31 years, teaching fifth and sixth grade at Wayside Elementary School. She enjoyed traveling and hiking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Eric Medlin of Statesville, one daughter, Debra Medlin of Statesville; two grandchildren, Kaden Lane Medlin, Taylor Brook Medlin; two sisters, Lucille Harwell of Statesville, Joyce Holden (Kevin) of Summerville, SC; one brother, Clarence Milstead (Lisa) of Statesville; six sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Milstead of Statesville, Maxine Monteith of Sanford, NC, Connie Hartsell (Guy) of Hickory, Linda Grose of Fort Wright, KY, Sarah Medlin of Statesville, Margaret Medlin of Marion, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Holleman and Rev. Jeff Luxon officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from1:30-2:30 pm at the Church.
