Evelyn Selena Wilkinson Kirkman

Evelyn Selena Wilkinson Kirkman, 82, of Statesville, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Selena was born January 10, 1943, in Iredell County, to the late Everett Eugene Wilkinson and Hazel Elizabeth Lofland Wilkinson. She was a graduate of Statesville High School. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, shopping, designing, spending time with close friends, and she loved animals.

In addition to her parents, Selena was preceded in death by her husband, Karl “Kirky” Kirkman, Jr.; a brother, Joseph “Joe” Wilkinson; a sister, Pat W. Morton; and numerous pets, including her special dog, Pappi.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Rocky Lee Parker (Penny) and Ricky Lane Parker (Ellen); stepdaughter, Mary Ruth Hunt (Michael); stepson, Graham Kirkman (Robin); sisters, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Pharr and Martha J. Wilkinson; brothers, David Wilkinson, James “Jim” Wilkinson and Edward Albert “Eddie” Wilkinson; grandchildren, Jamison Parker and Jessica Parker; great-grandson, Isaac Parker; step grandchildren, Rebecca Hunt, Carolina Hunt, Ryan Hunt, Henry Kirkman and William Kirkman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 12 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. John Parks officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Troutman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite animal shelter or adopt-a-pet.
