Evelyn (Henderson) Connor

Evelyn Justine Henderson Connor, 93, of Union Grove, NC passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Gordon Hospice House.

Evelyn was born April 13, 1929 in Union Grove, NC and was the daughter of the late L.C. and Josie Mitchell Henderson. She was a graduate of Union Grove Schools and was married to the late Jack Lee Connor, who passed away in 2010. She and Jack lived in Knoxville, TN, and she was a Librarian for the University of Tennessee before returning home to Union Grove after retirement. She loved gardening, watching birds and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one niece, Linda O. Dowell; three nephews, Jerry Davis Osborne, Daniel Laughlin, Steve Laughlin and several great nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Union Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Neil Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:00-2:00pm before the service.
