Eva Melzie Bumgarner Isenhour, 90, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center of Statesville. Eva was born in Iredell County on January 25, 1920 to the late Zeb and Minnie Davis Bumgarner and grew up in the East Monbo community. She was a loving mother and homemaker who dearly loved to cook and care for her family and friends and loved taking care of all of her beautiful flowers. She retired from Hunt Manufacturing, Inc. and Superior Yarn Mills, Inc. She is survived by three sons, Terry Joe (Shelby) Compton, Kenneth Ray (Linda) Isenhour and Russell Ernest (Jean) Isenhour, all of Statesville; two daughters, Marlene Compton (Fed) Mills and Donna Gail Moose, both of Statesville; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, six brothers and one grandchild. Funeral services celebrating the life of Eva Isenhour will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Woodward and the Rev. Tim Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service. Pallbearers for the service will be B.I. Isenhour, Lynn Mills, Tim Mills, Jon Isenhour, Tony Compton and John Cook. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr. #999, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220 or Bethel Baptist Church, 1162 East Monbo Rd., Statesville, NC 28677.Visits: 0
