Eugene Marvin Waugh

Dec. 3, 1939 - Sept. 20, 2015 Eugene Marvin Waugh, 75, of Troutman, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was born on December 3, 1939 in Iredell County to the late Dewey and Helen Poole Waugh. He grew up in Troutman, attended Iredell County schools and was married to Brenda Beaver Waugh for 56 years. Eugene loved his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who especially loved the time he spent with the children. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid NASCAR fan. He retired from Martin Marietta where he worked as a machine operator. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tonda (James) Johnson of Mooresville, Linda Cherry of Troutman and Kimberly Berens of Statesville; son, Joseph Brian Waugh of Troutman; brothers, Robert Waugh of Mooresville and Tommy Waugh of Troutman; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Eugene Waugh; sister, Elsie Compton; and brothers, James, William "Buddy" and JD Waugh. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Iredell Memorial Gardens.
